How to overcome pain and suffering in this life

Gurjit Singh Chadha1 min read

Pain and suffering are not punishments. They are sacred lessons that guide the soul's evolution from the lower chakras toward the higher ones.

Pain is unavoidable in human life. It is the body's way of signalling change or healing. Suffering, however, is created by the mind. The mind does not subtract or divide pain. It multiplies it, through worry, fear and resistance, and turns it into prolonged suffering.

To rise above this, we first have to raise our awareness and remember who we truly are: the eternal witness, not the body and not the restless mind. From that higher vantage point, watch how your mind and body react to pain. Gently tell the ego to accept the reality of the present moment. Acceptance dissolves resistance and opens the space to respond with peace.

Body first, then mind

Begin with the body. Give it the care it needs: medical treatment, rest, nourishment or any healing it requires.

Then guide the mind. Instead of letting it spiral into anxiety, give it a task: look for the lesson hidden in this experience. Even in the darkest situation, let it search for the seed of growth.

While the body heals and the mind stays busy finding meaning, the ego eventually arrives at a decision, one the soul can use to grow and rise to the next level of awareness.

In every moment your mindset holds the power. You can choose to be a victim of circumstance, or you can become the director of your own life's story and turn scenes of pain into chapters of hope, healing and wisdom.

With every small step forward you do not only mend the body and calm the mind. You strengthen the soul and bring it closer to its true light.
