Why are some born poor while others are born rich?

The circumstances of a birth are not random. They reflect the stage the soul has reached and the lessons it still has to learn.

Take Ramesh. He recently lost his job and is struggling to pay rent. His thoughts and his days are taken up by the most basic needs: steady work, food on the table and a safe place to live. Every morning he scans job listings, goes to interviews and picks up part-time shifts so that some money keeps coming in. At night he budgets carefully for rent, groceries and electricity. His choices are not driven by passion or higher goals. They are driven by the need for security.

At this stage his energy sits in the Mooladhara, the Root Chakra, which governs survival, food, shelter, safety and health. Until those needs are met, higher desires such as creativity, love or spiritual study stay in the background.

If Ramesh were to die in this state, his soul would be drawn to an astral realm that mirrors his unfinished struggle for stability. When he is given another birth on Earth, he would start again at the Mooladhara stage. Only once he finds security in that new life would his energy naturally rise to the Svadishthana, the Sacral Chakra, and begin to seek pleasure, relationships and creativity.

This is how it works, life after life. The soul climbs through the chakras one stage at a time, evolving toward full realization.
